Sam Flaherty
Senior Pastor, Residency Co-Director
I have been a Foursquare Pastor now for over 18 years. I currently serve as our Foursquare Area supervisor for the South Oregon Area. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve pastors across multiple denominations. Lovena and I deeply love our leaders. Lovena and I have been married over 30 years. We love our growing family! Both our children are married and we have an amazing grand-daughter. We moved to Coquille over eight years ago to pastor in this amazing community. I serve as the Mayor and a volunteer firefighter in our community. Lovena works hard as a nurse case manager and in several ministries at Coquille Foursquare. We love gardening, camping, kayaking and date nights! We are so excited for all that God continues to do in our lives and the lives of these amazing families in the Coquille Valley.

Carolyn McGuire
Pastor, Director & Instructor of SCBI
Pastor Carolyn has ministered for over almost 60 years of which 50 have been on the South Oregon Coast area. She has been part of the Praise Center family for over 30 years. Carolyn is on staff at Coquille Foursquare and is the Director and Instructor for the South Coast Bible Institute. Besides teaching, her other passions are Chaplaincy work with First Responders, and reading books while drinking coffee in a local coffee shop while meeting with friends. She also remains active in many community services in Coos Bay and Coquille, Oregon. She is the consummate learner, she carries 6 doctorates!
Kaylee Hanks
Worship & Resource Pastor, Residency Co-Director
Hi, I’m Kaylee. (Hiiiii Kayleeeee) I was born and raised in Fresno, California. There, I went to Fresno State and earned my B.F.A. In Graphic Design with Emphasis in Illustration. After I graduated, I knew I needed to follow God’s calling and begin pursuing ministry. Before I knew it, I found myself in Canby, Oregon starting the internship program at Canby Foursquare. My time there was truly life changing. Now I am here in Coquille! I was a Resident Pastor for two years, and I completed my Master's Degree in Strategic Leadership from Life Pacific University. I love this church, and I love working here! Miscellaneous Fun Facts: I love to play board games, I collect rubber ducks, my favorite ice cream is Moose Tracks, and I love bears.
As a part of my Master's Degree Program, I completed a Capstone research project. It was a case study on our church and our worship team about what leadership practices best encourage creative process engagement in worship team members. Check it out!
Victoria Flaherty
NextGen Director
Victoria joined our Coquille Foursquare Church Family in 2021. She moved here from Mulino, OR, following the calling of the Lord. She soon found out that she would have an opportunity working at the church with her Uncle Sam! Victoria is passionate about helping kids grow and know the Lord. She leads all of our NextGen ministries: nursery, kids, youth, and young adults.
Alice Schaenzer
Elder, Prayer Leader
Alice has been part of the Praise Center family for over 30 years. She plays a key/active role in leading our Elders and Prayer Teams that meet throughout the week and on Sunday mornings before service. Please drop her an email if you have a prayer request.
Alice loves her growing family. She also loves to read mysteries; enjoys the sounds of nature; dabbles in art & writing. Her absolute joy is visiting with folks and hearing what Jesus is doing in their lives.
Darlene Kupersmith

Darlene is an important part of our church team. Darlene, sometimes known as Mimi, and her husband Bruce have been part of our church family for over 30 years. She is the glue for everything administrative and helps with our worship team and decorating. Pastor Sam refers to Darlene as the “Most Amazing Executive Administrative Assistant!” Darlene is an artist with a passion for design. That passion is expressed in color, drama, song writing, singing, sewing and a variety of other art forms. Her love for God and excellence is evident in everything she does.
Ken Duke
Chaplain (Coquille Valley Hospital)
Ken has pastored in Fairborn and West Carrollton, Ohio from 1995-2005. In 2006, he was called to Coquille First Assembly of God. He stepped down in October 2018. Then, Ken and his family began attending Coquille Foursquare in December 2018 and currently serves our community as Chaplain at Coquille Valley Hospital. Ken has been married to his wife, MaryKay, for over 40 years. They have two children: Their son, Joshua, with his wife, Rachael, and their two sons, Caleb and Axton. And their daughter, Elle with her husband, Steven, who dwell in Bend.
